Garrison has been married twice. His first wife, mother of Callie, passed away and he remarried years later. Unknown to him, his wife poisoned his daughter Callie to go into a coma. So he put her into the hospital he worked at and watched over her, while reading her fairy tales. During this time, his second wife died.
Later on, Sam and Dean visit the hospital he works at investigating, and they tell him that Callie is the one doing the killings. He doesn't believe it until they give him a description of what her spirit looks like. He too, had seen it and talks to Callie. After apologizing to her, Callie passes away, and her spirit is put at rest and disappears. He is upset by Callie's death, but is glad she didn't kill any more people.
