The Ground Consecration Ritual is a ritual to consecrate ground and make it holy.
Overview[]
When performing the third trial, Sam Winchester needed consecrated ground to cure a demon and was presumably going to use this to consecrate the ground around Abaddon to cure her. Abaddon escaped before they could try to cure her and when they performed the ritual on Crowley, they took him to an abandoned church instead of using the ritual.
After Dean is turned into a demon and Knight of Hell, Sam used this ritual to consecrate the floor of the Men of Letters bunker's dungeon so he could cure him. He was ultimately successful.
Procedure[]
The ritual is simple: the person wanting to consecrate the ground must simply pour holy water in the area they want to be consecrated and recite the Latin blessing:
- Ritum sacrum hanc terram consecro.
- Loose translation:
- (By these) holy rites, I hallow these lands.
