Johennie Odysseus is an old man and curio shop owner that appeared in Supernatural: Fresh Meat.
History[]
Johennie ran the Odysseus Spice and Curio Shop along the California coast not far from Port Reyes Station. Johennie was a friend of the hunter Marta who knew him to carry many exotic and hard to get spices.
In order to build a special whip to kill an aswang, Marta sends Sam Winchester to Johennie's shop to get the needed ingredients. Sam is surprised by Johennie's strength despite his frail appearance and Johennie helps him get what he needs. As Sam leaves, he is attacked by a pack of vampires sent to kill him by Jason, the aswang. As Sam struggles to escape, Johennie emerges from his shop and opens fire on the vampires, damaging the leader's face and giving Sam enough time to get Bobby's van running. Sam and Johennie escape in the van and Sam explains to the surprised old man that they were facing vampires. After Sam tells Johennie that he thinks he was set up by someone, Johennie reloads his shotgun and offers his help.
Returning to Marta's restaurant, they find it ablaze and Johennie stays behind outside as Sam rushes to help Bobby and Marta. While Sam is gone, Johennie is captured by the six vampires who take him hostage to use against the hunters. As the vampires and the hunters argue about trading Johennie for Sam and Bobby, Johennie takes advantage of the distraction to take the leader's knife from his throat and stab him in the stomach with it and smash his shotgun into another vampire's mouth as he recovers it. In the fight that follows, Johennie aids Bobby against a vampire by tripping him to the ground as he rushes the hunter, enabling Bobby to kill him. He then joins the hunters in surrounding the leader before one of the vampires who broke off attacks them with a crossbow.
Following the battle, Johennie is returned to his shop by Sam and is relieved to find it still intact. Johennie and Sam part ways with Sam hoping he'll be as spry as Johennie when he reaches his age.
Physical Appearance[]
Johennie is described as a short old man around 95 years old with a wisp of white hair and glasses so thick they distorted the eyes underneath.

- Despite not knowing about monsters before the vampire attack on his shop, Johennie adapted quickly to the situation.
- Marta is shocked to learn that Johennie left his shop, indicating that it is rare for him to do so. He is also shown to live over it, further this apparent fact.
